Cuban Narrator at Mexico’s Cuentalee Festival
23 July, 2008
Havana, Cuba.- Cuban short-story writer Mayra Navarro is participating in the International Cuentalee Oral Narration Festival, which will run through Sunday at Mexico’s Palace of Fine Arts.
Also participating in the collective —touring schools and social centers— are other Latin American narrators such as María Elena Ávalos, Rubén Corbett, Javier Oterino, Sara Rojo, Marcela Sabido, Yolanda Sáez and Armando Trejo, reported the Granma newspaper on its website.
In addition to Mexico City, Navarro will perform over the next few days in the cities of Puebla and Guadalajara.
Meanwhile, other exhibitions of Cuban culture took place recently at the Metrópoli Patriostismo Square, also in the Mexican capital, with presentations by some of the island’s musical groups.
That night’s show, organized by Presencia Latinoamericana S.A. and Desarrollos Artísticos, concluded with an offering of Cuban cultural products that were available for purchase. (acn) |
