Viva Cuba to Be Played in All Venezuelan Theaters
July 23, 2008
Havana, Cuba.- The award winning Cuban-French film Viva Cuba will be shown in all Venezuelan movie theatres July 25 by the Amazonia Films Distribution Company.
The long-feature film tells the story of two children Malu (Malú Tarrau) y Jorgito (Jorge Miló) who clung to their strong friendship to travel across the country and stop her (Malu’s) father from signing a letter that would allow her to leave the country with her mother and stepfather.
Viva Cuba is a simple, honest film that has gained worldwide approval winning the Grand Prix Ecrans Juniors award in Cannes, 2005, and Best Film at the International Children Cinema and Television Festival in Taiwan.
The film was first played in Venezuela in commemoration of the Children’s Day last July 20, 2008, at the Theater of the National Art Gallery. The children starring the film, Malu and Jorge, attended the presentation, along with Larisa Vega, who played Malu’s mother and Luisa Maria Jimenez, Jorgito’s mother. Also the director Juan Carlos Cremata was present.
Cremata thanked Amazonia Films for its interest in distributing the movie in Venezuela, says a Bolivarian News Agency report. (acn) |
