Solidarity Groups to Attend July 26th Celebrations in Santiago de Cuba

Havana, Cuba.- Nearly 100 members of groups in solidarity with Cuba will participate in the upcoming activities to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Garrison in Santiago de Cuba.
Rosa Maria Lopez Almaguer, a delegate from the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP) in Santiago de Cuba, told ACN that the guests come from Austria, Puerto Rico, Greece, Japan and the United States.
Lopez announced that the Puerto Rican Juan Rius Rivera Brigade, which visits Cuba annually since 1993, is one of the groups that will be present on this occasion and it will include among its members the head of the House of the Americas in New York.
Also invited to the July 26th celebrations are the Salonic Group from Greece and the Cuba-Japan Friendship Association.
The ICAP delegate announced that, during their stay in Santiago de Cuba, the members of these solidarity groups will visit places of historic and cultural interest and will pay tribute to late Cuban Heroine Vilma Espin.
They will also meet with members of Cuban grass-root organizations and will visit the Mausoleum dedicated to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery. (acn)
